Don't feel like doing christmas trees this season but still want that moody and wintry vibe in your home? #Metoo! Really this is how I decorate most winter seasons but this year I added a tad bit more because I wanted the ENTIRE mood.

Winter greenery is one of the easiest ways to get that winter feeling in any space. In this room, I staggered 2 pine trees which are from #studiomcgee home line. These can be found in Target but I also linked them here on the blog for you. A pine is always a great go-to for an outdoor or indoor winter look. In fact, did you know that pine trees tend to grow in the winter? No? Hah! Neither did I until I began writing this blog post.

The next thing I did in this space was added tons of texture on the couch by doubling up on throws using two of my absolute faves that I own. One has the feathery look and the other has a shiny fur look. They are so rich an add tons of coziness and contrast to the couch. My goal was to use the couch as a base to set the most of my winter look this year. So to complete that setting, I added 3 lanterns of similar styles but different sizes to the console table. Adding a book with pictures, opened to one of your favorite photos to match the decor in the room is an excellent tabletop decor idea as well. That is what I did to that area. I've added the name of the book you see here and a few pretty lanterns for you below.

I totally love being a homeowner and being able to have freedom in creativity when styling it. Just before I began writing this blog post, someone sent me a message on IG over on @house_of_quiana and shared that she had just closed on a home. I could sense just how excited she was and couldn't help but to be just as excited for her because I understand how soul tingling it is to know that you have free range to make a space totally your own when it comes to styling.

P.S. The roses pictured are available for purchase in my shop, Affordable Luxe Living.

Grouping lanterns leaves much room for creativity with sizes, styles, and colors. The linked lanterns are affordable and would definitely be beautiful in the winter mix.

Another accent I added are the small super affordable faux logs. You can purchase these at any #hobbylobby store, #amazon, and other stores. Those pictured here can get little messy so I did not place them directly onto the light colored carpet. Instead, I used one of my old cutting boards that I actually forgot I had to stack the mini logs on top of. I also added a few winter picks and oversized pinecones to complete that little setting.

The pictures above capture: A couple of faux mini logs under the bench, my favorite unique wood piece next to a vase with a few cedar stems on top of the coffee table, wood branches on the lower level of the coffee table and a group of roses on to of the accent table.

Let's talk about the simplicity of the coffee table and the accent table tops seen in the photos above. I kept things simple because there are tons of texture on and around the couch. However, let us not forget there's a place in the world of beautifully styled spaces for maximalists, minimalists, and moderate lovers. A maximalist could style that coffee table to perfection with a number of items and the space would still flow and look great next to all of that texture around the couch. In the case of this particular space, I decided to keep things on the simple side. Using different and unique wood pieces translates to winter very well and they are some of the least expensive things to purchase. One could even simply pick nature pieces from outside and not have to spend any money at all.

I rounded up a few similar garlands below. Tap each for price.
